Be Fearless

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

your rod and your staff, they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4

Ever been through a valley in life? Are you in a valley right now? Good. This is for you.

My pastor, Chad Fisher once said, "Peace isn't the absence of trouble, it's the absolute promise of the presence of God in the midst of it." (Read that again.)

Man, that's so good. Trouble and problems are unavoidable in this life. One way to avoid the valleys is to stay exactly where you're at.. But if you're moving forward in life and progressing, you'll inevitably go through valleys. So the answer to the valley can't be avoidance or staying "safe".. it's about becoming the brave warrior God created you to be.

The shadow of death paints a dark picture. It's the sign of ultimate defeat. Our natural reaction is to run and hide from it.. But David didn't do that, and neither do you. Because David's confidence wasn't dependent on where he was, his confidence came from God's presence. You can't fear defeat when you're with the One who's already conquered it!

Knowing this, you can walk boldly and confidently in the valleys because you're in God's presence too. Your Shepherd uses His rod and staff to defend from wolves and other danger along the way.

Oh, and by the way, He's never lost a battle. He's never lost one of His own. FACTS!

I challenge you to stop walking scared through your valleys. Start putting your confidence in the promises of God. You'll then be able to look defeat dead in the eye like David did with Goliath and say, "You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel."

The more aware you are of God's presence, the more fearless you become. You stop living timidly. You stop running away from the shadows and instead you become more of what God designed you to be: A fearless warrior. You start marching through the darkest of valleys with eternal confidence and hope, knowing that in God's presence, you are fully protected and fully loved.

Fear no evil today, He's with you, my friend.

Be Spiritually Fit,

Brian
